Today is Beggars' Night, also known as Trick-or-Treat night for many. It also happens to be the day before the official holiday of Halloween! So, whether you're staying at home to cuddle with your fur babies and loved ones for a spooky movie night, or going out to collect the most candy you can, I hope you have a fantastically spooktacular night!
I know my Feline Friday posts are typically on the lighter, carefree side, but today, I'd like to talk about a more serious issue. With both the fall season and Halloween quickly approaching, I feel it's an important one to address. You know that old superstition about black cats bringing misfortune if you cross their path? Please, please, don't buy into that. They're sweet, precious, and beautiful creatures that deserve to be treated with love, kindness, and respect. Like any other domestic animal, they deserve to have loving forever homes, with humans who will always care for and protect them.
Please don't be upset with people for not responding right away. Things are very, very hard right now, and all of us are being affected differently. Please be understanding and patient with your loved ones. Please show them respect, kindness, and love. The world needs these things now more than ever before.
Be one of the reasons that an employee smiles today, and any other day you happen to be around workers. Make sure they know they're truly appreciated, that they're more than just their job. And remember, whether you're a crafter, artist, author, teacher, clerk, waiter/waitress, banker, or something else, you are seen and appreciated. Thank you for all the work you do.
My soul, a translucent pond, Waters clear, imbued with the light Of the golden burning sun Not a drop disturbed, Not a wave displaced, Until inevitably, Another comes along
