Two Halves

This is another one of my favorites out of the poems I’ve posted here! I gave it a little brush up and increased the font size. I hope you enjoy reading (or rereading) it!

In the depths of my soul,
There are two separate halves,
Forcibly colliding and blending
Into a jumbled, crumbling mess
A constant battle for control,
Dominance over one another
The final goal
Broken into jagged pieces of myself,
I struggle just to breathe in again
An invisible plight that goes unseen,
Feebly crying out for help
With a voice so weak
A solemn fate I can’t escape,
Chained to the slivers left
Of my wilting heart
I cannot be saved

Trail of Secrets

This is one of my favorite poems on the blog. So, I thought I’d give it a little boost! I also increased the font size, so it’s hopefully easier to read now!

In the silent sanctity of night,

I shed secrets like a serpent

Discards its used flesh

They tumble to the ground,

Breadcrumbs for the lost to find

With each step, more pain

Is revealed, another betrayal

Soft mutterings carried on the breeze,

Whispers sounding from just behind,

No one is safe from the fingers

Of my reach,

In the secrets I deal

Pride Month – What It Means, and What That Means to Me

I thought it would be good to share this again, as Pride lasts all month long, and I think it’s a very important occasion to acknowledge. Honestly, this is also one of my favorite blog posts yet. It’s easily one of the most open and raw things I’ve ever written. I’m proud of it, and I’m proud of what it represents. Happy Pride! 🙂

Digging deeper, Pride Month originated from the 1969 Stonewall riots in New York, which were a huge turning point in the movement for LGBTQ rights in the United States. Now, June is seen as a month to commemorate that milestone and what it means to the LGBTQ community.

Aside from its cultural relevance, Pride is also seen by many as a time to celebrate and embrace who LGBTQ individuals are as people; what they believe, who they love, what they…

Respect and kindness are very important aspects of life. It’s vital to give and receive both. However, if there is someone who causes you to think, feel, and/or act in a negative manner, you have every right to remove them from your life. You aren’t obligated to keep people in your life, especially if they leave you feeling down all the time. Sometimes, you have to do what’s best for you.
