Love Gone

Familiar faces fade into angles and shapes I no longer know

Vibrant smiles shed their gleaming brilliance,

Twisting into scowls of venomous hatred

Kind hearts cease to beat for selflessness,

Mimicking a rhythm of greedy indulgence

The benevolent souls I once knew and adored

Have twisted into something born of malevolence

Where has their love gone?
