Bloodlines

Photo by Felix Mittermeier on Pexels.com

Trace along the murky bloodlines,

Dip your fingers in the thick crimson liquid,

Maybe you’ll feel where the venom first seeped in

It dribbled down, deep into the inner streams

Branching from your family roots,

Stretching into frigid, uninhabitable ground

The mysteries and secrets kept under oath,

Sworn by the sanctity of life and soul

The corruption of an unknown past,

Revealed in the poison rushing through your veins
