Monday Motivation #15

Don’t worry about fitting in, or living up to the “normal” expectations of society. The truth is, there is no such thing as “normal.” We all have our own traits and quirks, and that’s beautiful. We’re all lovely and amazing in our own way. There’s no need to focus on pleasing others or fitting into set labels. Instead, we should concentrate on always being true to ourselves and our hearts. Forget “normal,” it’s unrealistic and unnecessary.

    1. I love that idea! And yes, I certainly think people can accomplish both. While it’s important to look after yourself, people can do that and still help others. That’s a great aspiration to have! Best wishes!

  1. This time last year my writing life self-destructed because the info I was receiving was that everybody hated my stories and that nothing I was doing was correct. The pursuit of trying to make others happy with my writing nearly destroyed me. As a result, I’m no longer publishing my mystery series for now.

What you say is true. Pleasing others must be secondary, the important thing is to love and be happy with what you are doing first. People will come around to love it in time too.

    1. I’m so sorry you had to go through that. I’m not a published writer or anything, but my writing is still very near and dear to my heart. I can’t even imagine how it must feel to hear that. How awful. From what I’ve read of your writing, it’s wonderful and full of vivid detail. I really enjoy it. I don’t know why people had a problem with it, but you’re exactly right. The most important thing is that you’re happy and satisfied with what you’re doing. That always comes first. We can’t please everyone, and oftentimes, it’s very draining to try. Like you said, others will end up appreciating it in time. Hugs! 💕

      2. Of course, you’re so very welcome! I think all that time and effort has really come through. Your stories are so enjoyable to read. I find myself caught up in each one. I know from personal experience, it’s always great to look at your older work and know your writing has improved. Keep writing on! 😀
