No Longer Deadweight

Crimson apocalypse hangs over

A crumbling sky, pieces shattering

In the emperor’s unfaltering grip

Hellish abyss tears a rift in space,

Drawing in every sliver of light

Although the odds are low,

Obstacle upon obstacle

Blocking the path of righteousness,

I continue to fight

Despite countless defeats,

I continue to rise back up

Regardless of creeping failure,

I stand tall, head high, fists clenched

No matter what, I fight

For a better day tomorrow,

No longer deadweight

This poem was inspired by one of my favorite games from 2019, Devil May Cry V. I loved just about every aspect of this game; the characters, story, gameplay, controls, etc. You name it, Devil May Cry V does it well. If you’re interested in video games, I’d highly recommend giving it a try!

Only this poem belongs to me, and is my original work. The Devil May Cry V video game and its properties do not belong to me. No copyright infringement is intended.
